- Christopher Hansen, Mechanical Engineering, UMass Lowell
Brief Abstract:
Thesis explores the additive manufacture of thermosetting composites. Ambient reactive extrusion is used to print 50vol.% filled epoxy-amine system. Material characterization and printability of the epoxy-amine system was evaluated in this project. It was determined that the phase separation and clogging caused by the amine, as well as the slow reaction time between the epoxy and amine, resulted in the amine not being suitable for ambient reactive extrusion and a different amine should be used.
All interested students and faculty members are invited to attend the online defense via remote access.
