Bio
Ennio R. Sanchez graduated from UCLA with a Ph.D. in Space Physics. His dissertation focused on the MHD modeling and data analysis of the Earth’s magnetopause. During his postdoctoral tenure at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, Sanchez developed models of ion energization in substorms as well as models of electrodynamic M-I coupling. More recently, Sanchez’s research has focused on the development of techniques to map unambiguously the dynamic magnetotail magnetic field using beams of relativistic electrons, modeling of the M-I mass coupling through ion outflow, and testing the validity of wave-particle mechanisms thought to cause energetic electron precipitation from the radiation belts to the atmosphere.
