UMass Lowell is announcing planned COVID-19 mitigation measures for Fall 2022 in an effort to provide clarity to the campus community as well as prospective students and their families.
Remaining Spring & Summer 2022
- Current mitigation measures will remain in place.
Fall 2022
- Vaccination and booster requirements remain in effect for employees, vendors, full-time students living and studying on campus as well as students whose field of study requires vaccination, such as those in the health sciences. Vaccinations for online students will not be required at this time.
- Vaccine exemption requests for students and employees will continue through existing processes.
- The university will end surveillance testing and its outreach to individuals in close contact with confirmed infectious cases.
- On-campus symptomatic testing for COVID-19 will continue for students only in Health Services and require an appointment as is the case for all other services.
All employees & students remain free to wear masks. The university will continue distribution of antigen tests and KN95 masks through the summer, as supplies last, and discontinue distribution in the fall.
These recommendations are based on current and anticipated conditions. As it has throughout the pandemic, the UMass Lowell will continue to follow public health guidance and adjust in the moment to new information and may require additional mitigations measures.
