BNS Research Seminar Series with Courtney Millar on "The utility of flavonoids to target diseases in pre-clinical, clinical, and observational studies," on April 27, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time via Zoom.
Courtney Millar, Ph.D. is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research and a Research Fellow in Medicine, Department of Medicine, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School.
Millar completed her doctoral degree at the University of Connecticut, where she focused on delineating the mechanistic effects of bioactive compounds from three different Kingdoms (Plantae, Animalia, Eubacteria) on the progression of atherosclerosis in genetically modified mouse models. She is currently a T32 postdoctoral research fellow at the Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research. Although most of her work was in pre-clinical models, Millar is now transitioning to both clinical and epidemiological research in order to conduct translational research in the future. She is particularly interested in the importance and interrelatedness of nutrition, exercise, and mental health for healthy aging.
