Please join us on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from noon to 1 p.m. virtually for our next E-Bite on Effort Certification.

Register online to receive Zoom meeting information.

Did you know that PIs have a primary responsibility to steward funds received by sponsors? Given that the preponderance costs on externally sponsored awards are personnel costs, for faculty, staff, and students, understanding how to report and certify time spent working on sponsored projects is a pivotal piece of compliance, which is required by Federal regulations, and a part of UMass Lowell’s annual Federal and various sponsor audits. UMass system uses an electronic system to facilitate this process – Effort Compensation Compliance (ECC). This training will walk through the basics of effort certification and compensation compliance, as well as provide a live demonstration on how use the ECC tool.

The Enlightened Bites (E-Bites) brown bag lunch workshop series is sponsored by the Office of Research and Innovation and spans a variety of topics including proposal writing, grant funding, campus resources and community and corporate engagement. The E-Bites workshops provide a conversational and active space for faculty, staff, and postdocs to share expertise, brainstorm ideas, and generate interdisciplinary collaborations.

Please email VCRI_Events@uml.edu for any questions or recommendations for future topics. Thank you!
