The Office of Residence Life is excited to launch applications for our 2022 Summer Staff Associate (SSA) position. SSAs are staff that work during the summer to support residents in our summer housing, respond to crisis situations, and serve in the active and passive duty rotation for summer housing between May 8, 2022 and August 15, 2022. SSAs must be current UML students.

SSAs are also required to work 22 hours per week in a combination of:

  • Office/administrative support, falling primarily between the hours of 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday-Friday
  • Building security shifts that are scheduled from 5 – 9 p.m., Sunday-Saturday

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be an enrolled UMass Lowell student.
  • Ability to work from May 8, 2022 to August 15, 2022.
  • Required training for the position will take place the week of May 9, 2022.
  • Applicants are required to live on campus and must be available to participate in the duty rotation.
  • Additional outside employment or other commitments must be approved by a supervisor due to the need
    to cover office hours, security shifts and duty.
  • Must be available for both Summer Session 1 and 2.
  • Be in good conduct standing as determined by the Office of Residence Life.

We will be hiring 15 SSAs for this summer. A single room and board is provided as compensation for the Summer Staff Associate position, and this single room and board is compensation for participation in the duty rotation for the summer. The 22 hours of office and security coverage per week will be paid at a rate of $14.25/hour.
