The Invisible Flood: Saltwater Intrusion into Aquifers and Its Effect on Water Resources
April 11
4-5 p.m.
Alumni Hall, North Campus
Saltwater is the most widespread groundwater contaminant in the world, one that threatens the sustainability of densely populated coastlines worldwide. Join Asst. Prof. James Heiss for a timely lecture that will examine the process of saltwater intrusion into aquifers, including its causes, impacts and prevention measures.

Where Science Meets Business
Co-hosted by the Manning School of Business, this interactive event will discuss how the worlds of science and business collide. Featuring an engaging panel of experts, it will give students a chance to unlock valuable insights into the transferable skills needed to make the most out of whatever career path they choose.

The Kennedy College of Sciences Lecture Series on Science and Society, sponsored by Eric and Lola Chaisson, presents: Careering Towards Climate Change

3-4:30 p.m.
With a career spanning fermions to foreign policy, Simon Buckle has tackled complex climate change issues facing our world, including financial stability and climate instability. In this virtual lecture, Buckle will trace his personal involvement in shaping climate policy, while exploring some of the key challenges that we face in effectively addressing climate risks.

Schueller Observatory Open House
Join us for a stellar evening on South Campus with a special talk by Physics Ph.D. Candidate Thad Potter entitlted "High Altitude Balloons and the Search for Exoplanets: The PICTURE-C Observatory." After the talk, all are invited to visit the Schueller Observatory on the South Campus field where astronomers will be on hand to offer views through the telescopes (weather permitting) throughout the evening. Sunset will be 7:26 p.m.
