Please join us in the next Faculty Writing Spaces retreat on Friday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This retreat will be held virtually via Slack and Zoom. Participants are welcome to attend for part or all of the day, as their schedules permit. Please register online to receive access.

The schedule for the retreat includes:

9:00-9:15 Introductions and Goal Setting (Slack)
9:15-11:45 Focused Writing Time (Slack)
11:45-12:00 Accountability Session (Slack)
12:00-1:00 Workshop and Discussion (Zoom): Not Just Brains in Jars: Writing and the Body
1:00-1:15 Goal Setting (Slack)
1:15-3:45 Focused Writing Time (Slack)
3:45-4:00 Accountability Session and Wrap Up (Slack)

As a way of developing an active writing community at the university, the Office of Research and Innovation sponsors Writing Spaces, a program that welcomes faculty from all ranks and disciplines to write together in a collegial, focused environment. Each meeting includes discussion about goals, blocks of writing time, and a lunchtime workshop.

Please note that *writers do not need to attend the whole day.* If you want to drop in for a short period of time, we welcome that!

If you are interested in joining the Writing Spaces listserv or have questions about the retreats, please email Natalie_Houston@uml.edu or Jonathan_Silverman@uml.edu.
