As shared in an announcement earlier this year, the booster requirement comes following successful discussions with the university’s bargaining unit representatives regarding implementation, and consistent with vaccination agreements reached prior to the fall 2021 semester.
All currently eligible UMass Lowell employees were required to obtain a booster shot by Feb. 15, 2022. Employees not currently eligible to receive the booster are required to exercise best efforts to obtain their booster shot within 14 days of becoming eligible and should upload proof of their vaccination booster via the supplied secure form. Employees with an approved exemption are not impacted by this requirement. Exempt employees are required to participate in weekly surveillance testing provided by the university.
