The UMass Lowell Faculty Honors Committee announces the annual competition for faculty awards to recognize outstanding contributions to teaching, advising, mentoring, and campus engagement.

This year, there are five awards:

  • Award for Excellence in Teaching by an Adjunct Faculty Member - NEW
    Honors individual adjunct faculty members who exemplify a deep commitment to excellence in teaching at UMass Lowell. Our university recognizes the distinctive qualities and value of the professional experience that adjunct faculty members integrate into impactful learning experiences teaching the next generation to reach higher levels of skill, knowledge, understanding, appreciation, and expression.
  • Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching
    Honors individual faculty members with distinctive contributions to graduate-level instruction. Our university recognizes the distinctive qualities that guide excellence when working with master's and doctoral students.
  • Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching
    Honors individual faculty members who exemplify a deep commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. UMass Lowell recognizes the distinctive qualities that guide excellence when working with undergraduate students. This involves impactful experiences teaching the next generation to reach higher levels of skill, knowledge, understanding, appreciation, and expression.
  • Award for Faculty Mentoring Faculty
    Honors individual faculty members who exemplify a deep commitment to fostering professional and personal development of their colleagues and for helping to build a supportive academic environment through faculty-to-faculty mentoring.
  • Award for Faculty Mentoring Undergraduate Students
    Honors individual faculty members who exemplify a deep commitment to fostering professional and personal development of students and for helping to build a supportive academic environment through faculty-to-student mentoring. The university recognizes the importance of mentoring in fostering a campus community that celebrates and elevates teaching, learning, and scholarship and provides students with the support and tools they need to advance and thrive.
