All are invited to participate in a research study! Researchers at UMass Lowell are seeking volunteers to participate in a clinical research study to identify easier approaches for COVID-19 testing. The samples may be stored for a long time and will be used by different scientists in the future to study COVID-19 and related viruses. The potential participants will be eligible for the study if they are:

  • Adult (18 years and older).
  • Able to visit testing center at Weed Hall in the Mobile Van Unit on South Campus or the UML Haverhill Campus.

The visit to the site would involve:

Getting tested for COVID-19 by a nasal swab from the middle part of your nose. Providing at least one of the following samples for storage and future research:

  • Nasal swab (from middle part of your nose)
  • Saliva sample
  • Answering some questions about yourself, including questions about your background, health history, COVID 19 experience.

All study participants will undergo the standard test for COVID-19. Participant will receive test results within 48 hours. Participants will be reimbursed for time and travel with a $50 Visa Gift Card.

Currently testing is done on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at UML South Campus and Wednesdays and Thursdays at UML Haverhill Campus.
