Faculty and staff may now sign up to present a lightning talk at the Faculty Symposium on Thursday, March 3 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the UMass Lowell Inn and Conference Center. We encourage presenters to share their research, teaching innovations, creative works, community engagement projects, opportunities for collaboration or information about university-wide services and resources. Please register for a lightning talk and submit your presentation slide, if desired, by Feb. 24.

As a reminder, please register for the Faculty Symposium if you plan to attend.

Lastly, we welcome attendees to participate in a fun project for the event; we’d like to display art based on your scholarly work. The app, Wombo, creates AI-generated artwork prompted by text. Try it for yourself; visit the website and enter the title of your Ph.D. dissertation, recent publication, book, or other scholarly work as the prompt (no more than 100 characters). Then, select an "art style" and see the art created for you. Please submit your digital artwork by Feb. 10 so we can compile and share with the campus community. We will print the first 50 submissions to display at the event.

For additional information including the agenda, please visit the Faculty Symposium website or email Faculty_Symposium@uml.edu.
