UMass Lowell is committed to providing working, living and learning environments free of discrimination and harassment. We believe that equal opportunity and safe working and learning environments are not only just, but are also the foundations for a diverse, inclusive and highly effective community in which all members may thrive.
To this end, we are requiring all UMass Lowell employees to complete the Harassment Prevention and Title IX online training. We hope you will find this training module's content to be highly interactive, relevant and engaging. The content was developed based on research around the best practices for communicating and maintaining healthy relationships with your colleagues and students. As you complete the training, we also encourage you to become familiar with the many available campus resources.
This training has been updated to comply with the new Title IX regulations issued by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights and went into effect on Aug. 14, 2020. Title IX is a provision of federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in federally funded education programs or activities.
By March 1, 2022, all employees should have received an email from the UMass System Education (umasseducation@umassp.edu) notifying them of the UMass Lowell launch of the online "Harassment Prevention and Title IX (US Supervisors)." Note: This training is for all employees not just supervisors. If you haven’t received your email by March 1, please email equal_opportunity@uml.edu.
Participation in this Harassment Prevention & Title IX online course is required annually for all UMass Lowell employees. Please plan to complete the course by April 1, 2022. On average, participants need 60 to 90 minutes to complete this training. The training does not have to be completed all at once. Participants can complete part of the module and then return later to the place in the training where they left off.
If you have difficulty logging in to the training module, please contact the Get Inclusive technical support team by emailing support@getinclusive.com or contact Equal Opportunity and Outreach at 978-934-3565 or via email at equal_opportunity@uml.edu.
We are asking all supervisors to support employees in prioritizing the completion of this training on or before the due date.
Thank you very much for your work in establishing a safe and respectful learning and working environment here at UMass Lowell.
