Abstract:
Exercise is an essential aspect of establishing a healthy lifestyle change among women. Regular exercise has been linked to improved cardiovascular health, weight loss, and prevention of osteoporosis. However, in female athletes, extreme exercise along with an improper diet can create an energy deficit, resulting in an imbalance of bone turnover associated with endocrine disturbances and acceleration of bone loss. This dissertation examines the influence of one type of exercise regimen, yoga, on cardiovascular biomarkers in premenopausal females and examines the influence of consuming eggs on college female endurance cross country runners on bone biomarkers and inflammation following their competitive season.
All interested persons are welcome to attend.
