Brief Abstract:
Alzheimer’s disease (AD), a neurodegenerative disorder that currently affects over 30 million people worldwide, has become the most common form of dementia and a major public health challenge. My research focus is on creating deep learning tools for image, graph, and time-series signal processing to facilitate the early diagnosis and accurate prognosis of AD. My research contributions include (i) super-resolution imaging based on positron emission tomography (PET), (ii) graph-domain modeling of the spatiotemporal trajectory misfolded tau protein, a pathophysiological hallmark of AD, and (iii) sleep data analytics based on electroencephalography (EEG), heart rate, and accelerometry.
All interested students and faculty members are invited to attend the defense.
