  • 12 to 1 p.m. Workshop and Discussion: Planning Your Work: Expectations and Reality
  • 1 to 1:15 p.m. Goal Setting
  • 1:15 to 3:45 p.m. Focused Writing Time

As a way of developing an active writing community at the university, the Office of Research and Innovation sponsors Writing Spaces, a program that welcomes faculty from all ranks and disciplines to write together in a collegial, focused environment. Each meeting includes discussion about goals, blocks of writing time, and a lunchtime workshop.

This session, we are trying something new—two on-camera accountability writing sessions, where we will set intentions, write for 50 minutes, and share how we did. It’s a model practiced by a number of accountability organizations, and it can be very effective (even if it seems a little scary).

We also want to note that *writers do not need to attend the whole day.* If you want to drop in for a short period of time, we welcome that!
