Monday, November 8, 6-7 p.m. ET; Live Zoom
Join UMass Lowell Professor Robert Forrant to discuss the extraordinary anti-slavery efforts taking place in Lowell in the mid-19th century when the cotton mills, which relied on enslaved labor in the South, were at their peak. Film excerpts will be shown of the sites that still exist in downtown Lowell where abolitionist activity occurred, including a stop on the Underground Railroad.
Please RSVP via Zoom.
This is one of many events in the 2021 Global Learning Festival.
