UML Information Security is requiring Single Sign On (SSO) with Duo multi-factor authentication for UML DocuSign E-Signature forms. This will be in place for all Faculty/Staff and Student signers as well as back-end users.

Users will be authenticated without having to get an access code sent to their email for entry before starting a form. This will resolve the “Failed Access” issue we currently have where users say they do not receive the access code.

Users will also automatically have an account created in our Docusign Domain. This will allow signers to track their form history.

The SSO process will slightly change how you access the current DocuSign forms.

If the DocuSign form has been sent to your Faculty/Staff/Student email account, SSO will prompt for credentials and Duo. If you are already logged onto another system with your credentials in the browser, you will not be prompted to sign on again.

If the DocuSign form has been sent to a Resource email account (not a named user email account, but rather a generic UML account), you will need to login using the Resource email account and password. To facilitate this, you copy the link in the email notification to an Incognito browser, then sign in using the email address and previously created Docusign password. These accounts have been grandfathered in and will continue to use the Docusign Authentication process. No additional Resource accounts will be added in this way.

External signers will not be prompted for credentials and will be able to sign as they do now and will not have an account created in our system.

The date for this expected cutover is Monday, Oct. 25, 2021.
