Through UMatter2 and our JED Campus initiative, we are offering a series of VIRTUAL workshops to help faculty and staff support our students and themselves. Practical Approaches for Faculty to Support Student Well-being & Mental Health
Faculty play an important role in the lives of college students, especially during times of uncertainty. Faculty can contribute to the creation of caring campus communities and productive learning environments that help students thrive and, when needed, seek professional help. This workshop provides some basic information about student mental health as well as practical approaches that faculty members can implement in the classroom to help support the mental health and well-being of students. Different strategies will be shared, and participants will be encouraged to share successful strategies of their own.

You Can Help a Student (YCHAS)
This workshop presents a simple overview of college student mental health, how to identify distress in students and how you can help as a faculty or staff member.

A Deeper Dive into Mental Health Conversations
Have you had concerns about a student's mental health but weren't sure what to do? This interactive workshop led by UMatter2 and Counseling Services will highlight mental health issues in college students, including warning signs, followed by a discussion of how to manage situations that may arise. Participants will go through scenarios and talk through how to address them, getting feedback from a clinician.
