The Francis College of Engineering, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, invites you to attend a Master’s thesis defense by Habibat Alimi on “Two Dimensional analysis of Fluid Motion in the Cochlea.”
Master’s Candidate: Habibat Alimi
Defense Date: Tuesday, April 20, 2021
Time: 4 to 5 p.m.
Location: This will be a virtual defense via Zoom. Those interested in attending should contact habibatolaide_alimi@student.uml.edu and committee advisor, charles_thompson@uml.edu, at least 24 hours prior to the defense to request access to the meeting.
Committee Chair (Advisor): Charles Thompson, Professor, Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Massachusetts, Lowell
Committee Members:
- Kavitha Chandra, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Affairs, Francis College of Engineering, University of Massachusetts, Lowell
- Joshua Levy, Adjunct Faculty, Operations & Information Systems, University of Massachusetts, Lowell
Brief Abstract:
This thesis studies the cochlea which is the inner-ear structure and details the computation of the steady-state motion in a two-dimensional model of the cochlea. We derive a complete solution for the pressure within the cochlea model and show the cochlea partition responses as a to function of frequency.
All interested students and faculty members are invited to attend the online defense via remote access.
