Engineering Ethics Student Showcase and Faculty Panel on Friday, April 16 from 2 to 3 p.m.

In February, Jackie Hayes ’22 and Ben Burnham ’22 represented UMass Lowell in Lockheed Martin’s Fourth Annual Ethics in Engineering Case Competition.

In this Zoom webinar, Hayes and Burnham will share details about the hypothetical case they were given about the development and testing of a hypersonic aircraft—and discuss their experience competing against other universities to come up with the best solution.

The webinar will be hosted by philosophy teaching professor Aaron Shepherd, who served as faculty advisor for the competition team. David Willis and Chris Hansen from mechanical engineering will also be on hand to lend their expertise to the discussion. This event is co-sponsored by the Philosophy Department, Mechanical Engineering Department, and Francis College of Engineering.
