Jen Keene-Crouse, assistant director of College Based Advising, has been elected as the NACADA (Global Community for Academic Advising) Region Chair. Through Jen's service in this role, UMass Lowell will be recognized on a global stage as an industry leader for student advising experiences and best practices. NACADA Region 1 consists of New England and the Eastern Provinces of Canada.

Additionally, Justin Gerstenfield, director of College Based Advising, and Sue Casey O’Neill, coordinator of College Based Advising, will serve as Region 1 Conference Chairs.

Recognizing that effective academic advising is at the core of student success, NACADA aspires to be the premier global association for the development and dissemination of innovative theory, research, and practice of academic advising in higher education. NACADA promotes student success by advancing the field of academic advising globally.

The coming years will be pivotal as we grow post-pandemic and continue the work of the region. The leadership and service of professional and faculty advisors will be essential in ensuring not just the success of the Region Division and Association, but also our UMass Lowell campus community.
