Professor Raquel Vega-Durán is a Senior Lecturer in Romance Languages at Harvard University. She is also the chair of the Ethnicity, Migration and Rights program at Harvard University, as well as faculty liaison of inclusive excellence in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at her home institution. She is the author of the book "Emigrant Dreams, Immigrant Borders" (Bucknell UP, 2016), a key bibliographic source for the study of African and Latin American immigration in contemporary Spain. In her experience as a scholar and as a Spanish language and literature professor she has worked extensively on helping faculty and students understand the importance of foreign languages and literatures in order to promote diversity, inclusion and social justice in today's society.
