Massachusetts State Law requires all public employees (UML students are exempt) to complete an online Conflict of Interest training every two years. Newly appointed public employees must complete this training within 30 days of beginning public service, and every two years thereafter. You should have received an email from HUMANRESOURCES@LISTSERV.UML.EDU with the following information.

This training is developed by the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission and hosted on that agency’s website. The training course can be accessed at: http://www.stateprog.eth.state.ma.us/. The training may take approximately 30 minutes to complete. We ask you to complete the training within 30 days.

When the learning assessment is completed, take the following steps:

  • Select the “Print Certificate” icon (Do not select the “Course Credit” icon).
  • Enter your full name, title, and University of Massachusetts Lowell; click “View Certificate.”
  • Once your completed certificate appears on the screen, select “Print Certificate” to save the document as a PDF.
  • Email the PDF as an attached file to stateethics@uml.edu.

Technical Issues

  • Do not use a smartphone or tablet.
  • Disable your pop-up blocker.
  • If you are able to proceed through the entire program but your completion certificate does not include your name, position and state agency, select “Return to Data Form” to re-enter the data.

If you need any assistance please email Tricia Ciampa in Human Resources at Tricia_Ciampa@uml.edu.
