The UCAPS Office has been committed to providing a successful UPrint program at the university since 2011. In recent years the use of these printers has been reduced by over 60%, release stations have begun to fail because of their age, and many printers have historically low utilization.

In response, UCAPS will be permanently decommissioning all release stations across campus beginning Monday, May 19 in favor of a completely mobile experience. This will further support the green initiatives of UPrint by not having the touchscreen appliance running 24/7 and provides students the flexibility to release their jobs from their devices via MyPrintCenter at uprint.uml.edu (must be on eduroam or in vLabs). Print jobs will still be able to be sent from vLabs using the provided print packages, or by uploading jobs to the MyPrintCenter portal.

Additionally, printers that have been identified as not meeting the required utilization requirements will be permanently removed beginning Monday, May 19. Those printers will be:

  • Cumnock 007
  • Dandeneau 402
  • O’Leary 163
  • O’Leary 200A
  • O’Leary 200B
  •  O’Leary 237
  • Pinanski 200
  • PTB 190
  • PTB 300
  • Southwick 302
  • Southwick 317
