On Monday, Feb. 7, we launched the Healthy Minds Study (HMS). Using validated measures, the Healthy Minds survey provides a detailed look at the prevalence of mental health outcomes, knowledge and attitudes about mental health and service utilization. HMS emphasizes understanding help-seeking behavior, examining stigma, knowledge, and other potential barriers to mental health service utilization. This is our second iteration of the survey, and many of you will remember our first launch was in spring 2019, which gave us important information about our UMass Lowell students.

A healthy response rate is imperative in giving us reliable data about what our students are experiencing. This is where you can help. Please encourage your students to complete the survey and ask all your colleagues to do the same. If you manage social media accounts, please share posts about the survey from @UMatter2UML and Student Activities and Leadership.

If you send students departmental emails, please include a request for your students to complete the survey. There are prize incentives for students to participate, including Amazon gift cards, River Hawk packs and five free personal training sessions at Campus Rec.
