Living-Learning Communities (LLCs)

Living-Learning Communities provide students the opportunity to explore common interests with other students in their living environment.  This opportunity will help them to make purposeful links between the academic and co-curricular components of their college experience.  See what options are available for you!

Freshman LLCs

Six wings in Fox Hall were created specifically for Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) on floors 4, 5, and 6. Addtionally, we are renovating parts of Concordia Hall to accommodate two LLC's!  Freshman LLCs offer:

  • A community of other freshmen going through the same thing so you can support each other and the university can tailor support to meet your specific needs.
  • Close interaction with faculty mentor helps you through you're experience.
  • A partially renovated community with a private lounge.
  • Priority Move-In to get you acclimated to your Academic Department and Campus Life before everyone else!

Who is eligible for these LLCs?  How do I sign-up?

All incoming freshman students are eligible to apply for LLC floors, although they are tied to Academic Departments.  If you are interested in taking part of this opportunity, please follow these two simple steps:

  1. Submit a Housing Contract & Terms of Agreement (pdf) along with a $200 deposit to the Office of Residence Life.
  2. Log on to the Online Housing Gateway, click on "Apply for a Living Learning Community", select your desired LLC and enter today's date!

Assignments to LLC floors will be honored on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to submit your Housing Contract today!

Upper-Class LLCs

As the popularity of Freshmen LLC's has grown, our residential population has asked for their LLC programs to continue as upperclassmen. So far, we have two upperclass LLC's:

  • H.E.A.L.L. (Sheehy Hall, 5th Floor - starting in Fall 2012)
  • Business Innovation (725 Merrimack St. Apartments)

Who is eligible for these LLCs?  How do I sign-up?

If you have lived in the H.E.A.L.L. or Business Exchange Communities already, you are eligible! Also, incoming Transfer students are welcome to apply to live in these areas if you're interested! Just follow these two simple steps:
  1. Submit a Housing Contract & Terms of Agreement (pdf) along with a $200 deposit to the Office of Residence Life.
  2. Log on to the Online Housing Gateway, click on "Apply for a Living Learning Community", select your desired LLC and enter today's date!
Assignments to LLC floors will be honored on a first-come, first-serve basis (based on availability of space), so be sure to submit your Housing Contract today!
