The Disability Services Office provides equal access by determining reasonable academic accommodations for students and partnering with campus communities to remove barriers, promote diversity, implement universal design and strive for inclusion for all.

Meeting with Disability Services (DS)

Disability Services is an appointment-based service.

  • Booking an appointment: Students must register with Disability Services before scheduling an appointment.
  • How to register with Disability Services: Students must complete the Disability Registration Process and submit documentation in accordance with our Documentation Guidelines.
  • For students already registered with Disability Services: Students who completed their Intake Appointment and are fully registered can log in to Accommodate to book an appointment.
  • New to UMass Lowell? Prospective and admitted students can learn more about the Disability Services Office by completing the Prospective / Admitted Students form.

Important Student Updates

Registration with Disability Services

Students who have completed and submitted the Public Accommodation Request Online form, and have their documentation approved, will receive an email with instructions on how to book an appointment. If approved, you may log in in to Accommodate to schedule an intake appointment.

  • Fall 2026 Semester: registration is now open for students joining us for Fall 2026 Semester.
    NOTE on ALEKS Testing: Students planning on using accommodations for their ALEKS placement test must start the registration process with Disability Services before they schedule their placement test.

Accommodations Requests

Students who are fully registered with Disability Services are able to submit their accommodations request as follows:

  • Fall 2026 Semester: Semester accommodations requests are now open.  The last day to submit your accommodations request for Fall 2026 is Friday, December 4, 2026. 

Disability Services (DS) Peer Coaches

Our experienced DS Peer Coaches, who are registered with our office, are here to provide the support you need for a successful semester. They can assist with issues including:

  • Build stronger academic, organizational and time management skills
  • Discuss past challenges and plan for future success
  • Connect with other valuable resources at UMass Lowell (UML).
  • Open hours are available on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. via Microsoft Teams for help with Accommodate, technical issues or peer coaching. Email: DS_Peer_Coach@uml.edu for the Teams meeting link.

If you are interested in booking a session with a DS Peer Coach, please complete the DS Peer Coach Form, and we will connect you with a coach via email before the semester starts. Meetings can be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly, virtually or in-person.

Report Non-Urgent Physical Access Concern
