Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Updates
The first step toward receiving financial aid is to fill out the FAFSA®. The 2026-2027 is now available for current and prospective student to apply for aid for the next academic year, the UMass Lowell priority deadline is March 1.

Financial Aid Updates for 2025-2026
Students seeking financial aid for this current academic year should complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA. Awarding is underway for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 admitted students. Students will be notified through their admissions portal of their award eligibility prior to receiving their physical award letter in the mail.
Awarding for the 2025-2026 academic year is underway for current UMass Lowell students. Current students must meet eligibility standards and be registered for Fall 2025 courses in order to receive their financial aid awards.
For any student requesting an unusual or special circumstance appeal, or have been selected for verification, documents can be uploaded to your Financial Aid Portal.
Loan Repayment Updates
The U.S. Department of Education has resumed collecting on defaulted student loans.
