Scholarships For Transfer Students


UMass LOWELL TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
UMass Lowell is proud to award the UMass Lowell Transfer Scholarship, our In-State scholarship, to a select number of our most academically qualified admitted transfer students from within the state of Massachusetts. 

Award: $2,500

    • In-State residency required
    • Minimum GPA of 3.50
    • 15 earned transfer credits
    • Application not required 

Renewal criteria: 3.0 GPA; full-time status; maximum eight semesters


PROVOST SCHOLARSHIP
UMass Lowell is proud to award the Provost Scholarship, our most prestigious out of state scholarship, to a select number of our most academically qualified admitted transfer students from outside the state of Massachusetts.

Award: Half of Tuition and Mandatory Fees

    • Out of State, New England Regional or Proximity residency required
    • Minimum GPA of 3.90
    • 15 earned transfer credits
    • Half of Tuition and Mandatory Fees 
    • Application not required

Renewal criteria: 3.25 GPA; full-time status; maximum eight semesters 


ACADEMIC COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is awarded to a select group of incoming transfer students, with Out of State residencies, who demonstrate an exceptional level of achievement

Award: Will range from $5,000 - $7,500 

    • Out of State residency required
    • Minimum GPA of 3.50
    • 15 earned transfer credits 
    • Application not required 

Renewal criteria: 3.0 GPA; full-time status; maximum eight semesters


REGIONAL ACADEMIC COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP  
This scholarship is awarded to a select group of incoming transfer students, with regional or proximity residencies, who demonstrate an exceptional level of achievement

Award: $3,500 

    • New England Regional or Proximity residency required
    • Minimum GPA of 3.75
    • 15 earned transfer credits 
    • Application: none

Renewal criteria: 3.0 GPA; full-time status; maximum eight semesters 


PHI THETA KAPPA (PTK) SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is available to a limited number of transfer students who are active members in PTK

Award: $1,000

  • Instate, Out of State, Proximity and New England Regional Residency 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.50 
  • Associates Degree completed 
  • PTK Membership (active) 
  • Selections made by Transfer Admissions Office
  • Application not required 

Renewal criteria:  3.0 GPA; full time status; maximum 4 semesters


INTERNATIONAL PROVOST SCHOLARSHIP 
This Provost Scholarship, UMass Lowell’s most prestigious international scholarship, is awarded to a select number of our most academically qualified admitted transfer students from outside the United States.

Award: Half of Tuition and Mandatory Fees 

    • International residency required
    • Minimum GPA of 3.90
    • 15 earned transfer credits 
    • Application not required 

Renewal criteria: 3.25 GPA; full-time status; maximum eight semesters 


INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP 
This scholarship is awarded to a select group of transfer students, with International residencies, who demonstrate an exceptional level of achievement.

Award: Will range from $5,000 - $7,500 

    • International residency required
    • Minimum GPA of 3.50
    • 15 earned transfer credits
    • Application: none

Renewal criteria: 3.0 GPA; full-time status; maximum eight semesters 


MASSACHUSETTS ADVANTAGE PLUS PROGRAM (MAPP) 
UMass Lowell proudly offers MA community college students who have earned an associate’s degree in an approved program with a 3.0 or better grade point average a full in-state tuition discount when they transfer to UMass Lowell 

Award: In-State day school tuition, currently $1,454 for full time students/ pro-rated for part time students. 

    • In-state, Out of State, International, Proximity, or New England Regional residencies
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0
    • Associates Degree from MA State community college
    • Mass Transfer eligible major
    • Enroll at UML within one year of graduating from MA community college
    • Does not cover online or continuing education courses 

Renewal criteria: 3.0 GPA; maximum four semesters
