Renowned keyboardist for Dream Theater and experimental musician Jordan Rudess comes to UMass Lowell to present a concert to benefit the Music Department’s Scholarship Fund. Bleep Blop, April 20, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Durgin Concert HallBleepBlop

Bleep Blop was established by composers UMass Lowell Adjunct Music Faculty member PoChun Wang, UMass Lowell Music Department Faculty member Ramon Castillo, and pianist Pei-Yeh Tsai in 2010. Bleep Blop is an ensemble dedicated to the merging of acoustic performers with live electronics. The ensemble strives to overhaul the concert experience by providing an interactive environment for audiences. For more information contact the Music Office at 978-934-3850.

Harmonica, keyboard, guitar & percussion - Nov. 2012 

Howard Levy is a world-renowned pianist and harmonica virtuoso. He is a founding member of the Flecktones and won the Grammy for Best Instrumental Composition in 2012 with Bela Fleck for their co-written Life in Eleven. Chris Seibold is a multifaceted musician and educator who plays in many styles and with many different ensembles in the Chicago area. He has been playing guitar, mandolin and percussion with Howard for many years.


WIRED.TO.THE.EDGE 

Experimental Music Ensemble - Nov. 2012 

Drawing from such diverse influences as Milton Babbit, Steve Reich, and So Percussion, WIRED.TO.THE.EDGE is an experimental music ensemble that combines traditional acoustic instruments, electronic instruments, computer programming, found audio, and video clips to create original musical soundscapes. 

WIRED.TO.THE.EDGE is comprised of UMass Lowell alum Abe Finch, Percussionist and faculty member at Salem State University and Indian Hill Music School; Nick Giarratani, Audio Engineer, performer and Salem State University faculty member; and Mike Testa, Audio Engineer, Keyboardist and faculty member at UMass Lowell and Salem State University.
