    On this guided tour we will meet you at the Boathouse at 7 p.m. and paddle upstream on the Merrimack River. We will enjoy the sunset while floating on the water before heading back to the Boathouse in the twilight. Please come 15 minutes early to check in and prepare. Appropriate for adults and children.     This fun and informative full day program is recommended for beginner and intermediate kayakers looking to build a solid foundation of kayak touring skills. Our certified instructors will teach ACA Level 1 & Level 2 skills during this full day program. The basic curriculum for this course includes: personal preparation, the paddling environment, boat fit, equipment use, paddle strokes, maneuvers and recovery techniques. The day will unfold with instruction sequenced around an enjoyable shuttled trip on the Merrimack River from Riverfront Park in Tyngsboro to the UMass Lowell Boathouse and with plenty of games, practice and feedback throughout.     Every Saturday at 11 a.m. we drop boaters off about five miles upstream to River Front Park in Tyngsboro, Mass. to enjoy a scenic and leisurely paddle downstream. Highlights include paddling under the Tyngsboro and Rourke Bridges, the narrows around Tyngs Island, and side trips under the railroad bridges and up Stony Brook to explore historic mill buildings. Choose to paddle downstream (2-3 hours) or upstream and then back down (4+ hours). For more information or to register, please visit Here!
