How Much Harder Can You Work

You continue to refuse to sign petitions or attend rallies. You concentrate totally on your work because you are receiving desperate letters from home asking for more money. You have never worked so hard in your life. Some nights you are so exhausted you go to bed without even eating supper. The overseer has been pressuring you to take a fourth loom. You know he is just after the bonus he gets if one of his workers produces the most cloth per day. But you'll lose wages if the weaving is not good enough quality. You are barely making quota as it is. And there is always the risk of getting hurt.
