A Call to Public Service
The Jack M. Wilson Presidential Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 to provide special recognition to University of Massachusetts undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate academic excellence and a passion for public service. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded at UMass Lowell for the 2016 – 2017 academic year. Open to all residencies: In-state, Proximity/Regional, Out-of-state & International!
- Be currently enrolled full time at UMass Lowell or be currently studying online and enrolled for at least (6)credits per semester in an academic program through UMassOnline.
- Have an overall GPA of 3.25, with a minimum of (15) credits earned at UMass.
- Preference for Business, Engineering and Physics majors & for students of any major studying abroad.
- Submit a 500 word essay, describing your experience in Public Service and why you think it was important/meaningful.
The scholarship is awarded for one year. A GPA of 3.25 and full-time enrollment status at one of the UMass campuses or enrollment in six (6) credits in an academic program through UMassOnline must be maintained throughout the duration of the scholarship. Eligible students may apply for a second year, but renewal of the award is not guaranteed.
The UMass Foundation will provide scholarship amount available each year to the campuses & UMassOnline.
