Federal Student Financial Aid Penalties for Drug Law Violations

A conviction for any offense under any federal or state law involving the possession or sale of illegal drugs during a period of enrollment for which you are receiving Title IV federal student aid (grants, loans and work-study assistance) will result in the loss of federal and state financial aid eligibility.
The duration of ineligibility for aid varies based on the type of conviction and the number of times an offense has occurred.
