For many students, UMass Lowell becomes their home for four years.
During the summer, winter break and spring break, the majority of the residence halls are closed, and students are expected to move back home. Below is information on Intersession Options:
For those who need to remain on campus over the summer, please note that this summer only Bourgeois will remain open for student housing. If you are a current resident wish to remain on campus over the summer you must review the terms and complete the summer housing contract on the Online Housing Gateway. If you have never lived on campus before, you will access the summer housing contract via this Summer Housing Contract.
If you are interning over the summer and are looking for housing in the Lowell Area the housing contract must be completed. This contract will be posted online by Mid-April 2014.
For students with a fall housing assignment that need to stay over Winter Break, please note that only Fox, Leitch, Donahue, University Suites and Riverview Suites will remain open for students. If you wish to reside on campus over the Winter Break, please review the Winter Intersession Housing Contract (pdf).
If you do not live in Fox, Leitch, Donahue, University Suites or Riverview Suites, please note that you will need to borrow a room from someone within these halls. You must obtain permission from a resident of these halls, complete the Borrow Form (pdf) and return it to the Office of Residence Life with your Winter Intersession Housing Contract. No exceptions will be made. Please plan ahead, as access to other buildings will shut off at 6 p.m. on the posted Winter Closing date.
For students with a spring housing assignment that need to stay over Spring Break,
must fill out a Spring Break housing contract on the Online Housing Gateway under "Housing Contracts" by March 12, 2014 at 4 p.m. Please plan ahead, as building access will be shut off will shut off at 6 p.m. on March 14, 2014 for those who did not apply.
The cost to stay is $225. This includes 10 meals for the week to be provided at University Dining commons. Residents of Riverview Suites will be charged $150 for the week with the option to purchase the 10 block meals for an additional $75 for the week. These charges will be billed directly to the students ISIS account.
