In addition to meeting with a career counselor, I went to three resume improvement events to get my resume just right. I attended a Career Café in Southwick Hall, Resume Makeovers in Alumni Hall, and also got my resume reviewed by Tom Dean of Analog Devices during an Interview Preparation from the Employer’s Perspective workshop.
My goal is to get a Master’s degree and go on to be an embedded software developer. Thanks to the Career & Co-op Center, I had the time of my life that summer, got strong career experience, and even got to fly on Garmin’s company planes.
Andrew’S ADVICE FOR STUDENTS
My advice to other students would be to take the initiative; whether it’s to go to the Career & Co-op Center or to approach an employer. Almost everyone appreciates initiative.
