Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges
Who's Who is a national recognition conferred on student leaders with a Junior or Senior status who maintain academic excellence while providing outstanding leadership service to the campus community and beyond. Established in 1934, this award is given out in all 50 states at over 1000 colleges and universities throughout the country.
UMass Lowell recipients are honored with their families at an annual award brunch. Seniors are further recognized with student leader stoles and inclusion in the commencement program.
Leadership awards banquet
With a 30 year history, this special night is one of the most anticipated events of the year. As one of the department's longest standing traditions, the annual leadership award banquet honors exemplary individual students, organizations, and advisors for their contributions to leadership, service, advocacy, and innovation. In addition, various scholarships are presented, and the Student Government also presents the Teacher of the Year awards at this celebration.
Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK)
Omicron Delta Kappa is the National Leadership Honor Society. Junior and Senior students in the top 30 percent of their academic college are invited to apply for membership in ODK. Applicants are evaluated on their contributions to the society's five guiding principles: scholarship, athletics, service, communications and arts. Accepted applicants are inducted each spring and are invited to partake in activities and initiatives that strengthen their leadership skills and abilities.
