Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) is the National Leadership Honor Society. Membership in Omicron Delta Kappa is a mark of highest distinction and honor.
Membership is by invitation and awarded to undergraduate junior and senior students actively involved in the UMass Lowell community, as well as to faculty, staff, administration and alumni. The organization seeks to bring student leaders from across all facets of campus life into one organization to help build a voice and sense of community among it students. It seeks to recognize those individuals who have contributed in special ways to the University of Massachusetts Lowell and/or if a transfer student to their previous institution.
Individuals accepted into ODK must rank in the upper 35% in scholarship of their college, have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and must demonstrate leadership in at least one of the following five areas:
- Campus Organizations and Community Service
- Journalism, Speech, and the Mass Media
- Creative and Performing Arts
This is also one of the few organizations on campus where faculty, staff and students hold equal membership rights.
Membership in ODK is based on prior individual accomplishments and recognizes how the new member can be a valuable contributor in the future to our collective efforts. Accepting membership entails commitment to work with colleagues, through active engagement in ODK's meetings and activities, to fulfill these purposes.
