SPRING 2020 SCHEDULE

Friday, January 17

  • 9 a.m.: Arrive to check in and meet your assigned OMA Ambassador in the Saab ETIC Atrium on North Campus. Bring your passport and student ID number. These mandatory sessions start promptly at 10 a.m. A light breakfast will be provided.
  • 9:30 - 9:45 a.m.: Welcome and overview of orientation by Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) in ETIC Atrium on North Campus.
  • 9:45 - 10:30 a.m.: Immigration Clearance Session by the International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO) in ETIC Atrium on North Campus.
  • 10:30 - 11 a.m.: Immunizations & Health Insurance Presentation by Health Services in ETIC Atrium on North Campus
  • 11 a.m. - Noon: Student Life Presentation by OMA, Student Activities & Career Services
  • Noon - 1 p.m.: Lunch with Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) Student Ambassadors in ETIC Atrium on North Campus
  • 1-2 p.m.: Get UMass Lowell student ID's at the UCAPS office in University Crossing
  • 2-3 p.m.: Student Affairs Department Fair in University Crossing lobby with student cultural clubs
  • 3-6 p.m.: Breakout sessions with advisors
    Undergraduate session: O'Leary library Mezzanine 2nd floor & O'Leary library 140 on South Campus
    Graduate session: Moloney Hall, UC490, UC158 in University Crossing building
  • 6:15-7:15 p.m.: Dinner (Undergraduates: Fox Hall, Graduates: University Crossing)
  • 7:30-9:30 p.m.: Shopping trip to Target (optional)

FALL 2019 Schedule

Day 1: Thursday, August 29

Day 2: Friday, August 30

  • 9 a.m.: Light breakfast, debrief with Ambassadors
  • 10-11 a.m.: Student Life Presentation by OMA Ambassadors in Alumni Hall on North Campus
  • 11 a.m. - Noon: Vendor Fair with banks, cell phone companies, and SIM card distribution in Alumni Hall on North Campus
  • Noon - 1 p.m.: Lunch with OMA Ambassadors Alumni Hall on North Campus
  • 1-4 p.m.: Full tour of campus and downtown Lowell, individualized tours of each campus based on majors with Orientation Leaders and OMA Ambassadors on both South and North Campus
  • 5-6:30 p.m.: Welcome/Networking Dinner Allen House on South Campus
  • 7-9 p.m.: Game Night & Soccer Tournament on East Campus (optional)

Day 3: Saturday, August 31 (Optional)

  • 11-2 p.m.: Independence Day Celebration hosted by the Indian Student Association in Alumni Hall on North Campus
  • 2-5 p.m.: Boat Tour of Lowell at National Historical Park Visitor Center. Purchase your $5 ticket online.
  • 7-9 p.m.: PlayFair for all new freshmen or first year students
