Student Staff

Our student employees are a critical part of the Office of Multicultural Affair's (OMA) success and provide invaluable support as well as being the front line in welcoming you! Frances Reyes (OMA PEER LIAISON)

  • Ethnicity: Dominican (Afro-Latinx)
  • Fun Fact: She is passionate about passion fruit; Has never been on a train.
  • Hobbies: Reading, taking road-rips and learning about new cultures.
  • Campus Involvement: Advocates of Tomorrow LLC, River Hawk Rising, Diversity Peer Educator
  • Goals / Aspirations: Biomedical Engineer (research in pharmaceutical, tissue, genetic, and natural engineering), travel the world in search of natural resources for cures for illnesses, and work in a children's hospital, travel the world, learn Portuguese, ASL, and Mandarin.

Ricardo Candanedo (OMA PEER LIAISON)

  • Hobbies: include Streetwear, playing games such as Overwatch, CSGO and many others, and hanging out with friends

Taylor Billy

  • Goal/Aspirations: “I would consider this a shorter-term goal but getting a sense of what I’d like to do for a career, and getting more on track in terms of what I have to do for school (Homework, Classes, FAFSA / Financial Aid, Meeting with my Adviser)”

Jiayi Zhou

  • Hobbies: I love sports and I am obsessed with hockey, love watching films and musical, visiting libraries and galleries, travelling and exploring new cultures.
  • Fun fact: I had been to 8 hockey games in one week (WJC in Buffalo)
  • Goal / Aspirations: Hope to learn about new cultures and customs, participate more into the sports related programs where I can use my major and knowledge to help people to reach their best within their field of sports.

Mariah Brown
