Alcohol and Drug Counseling

UMLCS can be a place to receive support and information if you are worried about your substance use or the use of a loved one.

Substance use services include:

  • Assessment: An evaluation of current and past substance use, leading to an individualized treatment plan addressing a student's specific goals.
  • Short Term Counseling: Therapy for students interested in examining their relationship with substance.
  • Information and Referral to Community Treatment: Students with higher level concerns about their substance use can meet with a clinician to receive information on and connections to local resources.
  • Consultation: A one time meeting for those seeking information on how to best support family member or friend who may be coping with stance use.
