Catherine has worked with a variety of student groups in both corporate and academic settings. Prior to UMass Lowell, she was the manager of Alumni & Student Communications and Programs at Harvard Business School. In this role, Catherine facilitated job search workshops to help MBAs prepare for their summer internships. She was also responsible for developing a strategy to deliver programming and web content to 70,000+ HBS alumni. Catherine presented a popular HBS self-assessment program at the 2014 MBA Career Services & Employer Alliance Conference in Minneapolis. Before she made the switch to higher education, Catherine worked in Human Resources at Wayfair, a leading online furniture retailer. She played an integral part in the launch of their virtual employee development portal and also formalized the company’s internship/cooperative education program.

Areas of Expertise and Professional Interests

There is a natural excitement that accompanies any job search and Catherine thrives on helping students navigate that process. During her undergraduate coursework at Northeastern University, she completed three cooperative education placements and is thrilled to share her experience with UMass Lowell students. She is a firm believer in the value of experiential learning and hopes to provide students with a professional framework they will use throughout their careers. Catherine specializes in curriculum planning, communication strategies, marketing, course facilitation, and employer outreach.
