Prior to working in the Career & Co-op Center, Claire worked in the Psychology Department at UMass Lowell for 13 years. In this position, she coordinated event planning, including the Psi Chi National Honor Society induction ceremony and the annual awards banquet. In addition, she performed numerous administrative functions, supporting the work of more than 25 faculty and staff in the department. Before working in the Psychology Department, Claire worked in the UMass Lowell Human Resources Department in Administration and Finance.
Areas of Expertise and Professional Interests
Claireís areas of expertise in higher education include employer relations, establishing relationships with employers seeking to hire UMass Lowell students. As part of this effort she coordinates all employer visits, including on-campus interviews and information sessions. Claire also reviews positions submitted to CareerLINK, UMass Lowellís online recruiting tool. In addition, Claire has several years of experience in office administration, supervising and training students and staff. With 30 years of experience at UMass Lowell in a variety of roles, she has deep and broad knowledge about UMass Lowell's departments, traditions, and events. She is especially skilled at pulling together logistics for the department's career events, totaling more than 30 a year. Above all, her passion is ensuring that each visitor to the Career and Co-op Center ñ employers, faculty, students, and staff ñ feels welcomed and valued.
