How to let students know your course incorporates Service-Learning and how students can find your Service-Learning course:

Undergraduate Courses:

The process for applying for the Service-Learning attribute for a course is now part of the River Hawk Experience Distinction (RHED) Community Engagement process. Submit course information online for both the Service-Learning attribute and the RHED Community Engagement distinction. Having this attribute on your course provides a note on students’ transcripts, allows students to search the course on SiS using the Service –Learning attribution, and permits students to apply the course towards the RHED distinction requirements.

Graduate Courses:

Currently the RHED program does not include graduate courses.. For now, please see the Service-Learning Attribute Policies provided for detailed information on criteria and the process for having your course approved. Use the Service-Learning GRADUATE Course Attribute form to submit your course information. If your course was previously approved for the Service-Learning Course Attribute, simply renew your course by filling out the renewal form.

Forms will be reviewed twice a year, every November and every April. Please submit by:

  • October 15 by 11:59 p.m. - This is the last submission date for FALL courses, you may also submit SPRING courses at this time if you'd like the course listed as a Service-learning course when students are registering for courses.
  • March 15 by 11:59 p.m. - This is the last submission date for SPRING courses, you may also submit FALL courses at this time if you'd like the course listed as a Service-learning course when students are registering for courses.
