Important Guidance Regarding Disclosures Related to Foreign Influence on Research
The UMass Office of the General Counsel has developed additional guidance (pdf) regarding disclosures related to foreign influence on research.
Principal Investigators, Project Directors, and Key Personnel on NIH and NSF projects should pay particular attention to the referenced notices issued by those agencies on July 10, 2019 (NIH) and July 11, 2019 (NSF), which provide clarification about required disclosures and participation in foreign government talent recruitment programs. The University strongly recommends that researchers seeking sponsorship from other federal agencies also disclose such information.
A list of internal contacts is available to provide guidance on federally-mandated disclosures and other compliance issues.
