Investigation of High Velocity Impact on Properties of Transparent Polymers

Description: The current polymeric eye protective systems (spectacles, goggles, and face shields) have utilized several engineering polymers to protect users from high velocity impact of shrapnel. To improve the functionality and utility of such protective gear and accelerate the development of high-performance polymers, an in depth investigation to identify and characterize key properties in polymers that promote impact resistance is to be performed.
