UMass Lowell attracts talented students from across the country and around the world. Our freshman class alone includes students from 30 states, who’ve come to Lowell for a great education at an affordable price.

For the children of UMass Lowell alumni who live outside Massachusetts, that price just got even more affordable.

Our $1,000 Legacy Scholarship is available to out-of-state freshmen and transfer students with a parent or legal guardian who attended UMass Lowell (either as an undergraduate or grad student). Both freshmen and transfer students are eligible for the one-time, non-renewable scholarship.

“The Legacy Scholarship is our way of recognizing two groups who contribute so much to the life of our school: our alumni and our out-of-state students,” says Michael Belcher, UMass Lowell’s director of outreach and recruitment.
