Urban Agriculture in Lowell requires a unique and innovative approach due to limited growing space and resources.
The UMass Lowell Office of Sustainability partners with local organic produce vendors to offer a CSA-style Farm Share Program during the annual growing season (June-November). These local partnerships aim to not only change what you eat, but why and how you eat as well.
Based on the success of previous year’s, along with continued strong demand across the campus, UMass Lowell is partnering with Mill City Grows and Clark Farm to provide the UMass Lowell community with weekly access to fresh, local, organic (and delicious!) produce.
As the Urban Agriculture partnership between UMass Lowell and Mill City Grows expands and evolves in a sustainable manner, we are proud to establish a partnership with local certified organic growers, Clark Farm. Clark Farm grows the highest quality of food while supporting sustainable agriculture techniques, and is committed to strengthening community partnerships and increasing access to healthy and nutritious food for all. The goals and missions of Clark Farm deeply align with those of Mill City Grows as well as those outlined in UMass Lowell’s 2020 Strategic Plan.
The UMass Lowell Farm Share Program is available to university students, faculty and staff to apply for a weekly-delivered share of organic vegetables, fruit and more.
