Student engagement is key to supporting our student success goals: retention, persistence, and graduation and lifelong connections to our campus community. While centering the student experience has long been a priority at UML, we are now sharpening our lens on understanding the many ways students engage with us, the experiences they have during their time and how they feel supported in their journey. We are calling this the Student Experience Mosaic Initiative.

As we kick-off the Student Mosaic Experience Initiative, we invite campus participation in one-hour focus groups. These focus groups seek to gather input from faculty, staff and students on the many ways undergraduate, graduate and online students engage with our campus. The Student Mosaic Initiative is anchored by big questions: How do students engage with us and how does this look for students? How does data on student engagement (or knowing if they are engaged) help us support students and their experience/success? How does this inform our collective work across different areas of the university?
